El Paso Independent School District, the county's largest with 94 schools, had 17 exemplary campuses and 42 recognized.
Ysleta was rated acceptable. Of its 61 schools, 12 were exemplary and 20 were recognized.
TEA school ratings
Exemplary: Ninety percent of the school's students must pass each subject of the state's standardized test.
Recognized: At least 80 percent of students must pass the tests and 85 percent of them must graduate from high school in four years or continue into a fifth year.
Acceptable: A school's passing rate must be at least 70 percent in English, writing and social studies tests, 65 percent in math, and 60 percent in science.
